This has been bugging me since Chicago, I just haven't had the time to sit down and write about it.
Are the Stargates really that kid-friendly? There seemed to be a quite a few kids at the convention, and while I realize that some of them were only there because their parents were, others were really big fans of the show. So my question is, what makes the shows kid-friendly? It seems to me that there is quite a bit more that is not kid-friendly than stuff that is. Let's review, shall we?( spoilers for all seasons of SG-1 and Atlantis, including Company of Thieves and PhantomsCollapse )
I'm sure there are many more examples as to why this isn't kid-friendly. If you can think of any more, leave a comment and I'll update the lists. :) Now I'm interested to hear what people think makes the shows kid-friendly.
If you have kids, do you let them watch the shows? Are there episodes you won't let them watch? Will you watch a new episode before letting your kids watch it, or do you all sit down together and watch?
I'm really interested in what people have to say on this topic, so I'm leaving this post un-locked -- feel free to link here if you think others on your friends list might be interested too.
